4th SEMESTER SCHOOL INDUCTION 14/06/2023-16/06/2023


14/06/2023, Wednesday
     
  It was the first day of our school induction programme in 4th sem at GHSS Palayamkunnu. Today we 15 student teachers from SNTC Nedunganda started the journey. I reached the school at 9:00 am. We signed the register. They allotted us a room to stay which is the previous library near the school office. We arranged bench and desks there. There was already student teachers from METCA along with us. They are already familiar with some of us in the previous internship. 
          Today there was an assembly conducted by XA in the school auditorium. We have also joined with them in the assembly. At 9:30 am assembly started with the prayer. It was the first assembly in the new academic year. Then pledge was conducted for giving an awareness about mosquito bites and diseases caused by this.News was read by Adithya. After that principal provide a speech. Then the new HM addressed in the assembly. Then National Anthem was sang and assembly dispersed.
        
        After that we went to our optional teachers and get our time table. Then we have to go to HSS Physics lab for cutting uniforms. At 12:15 pm we went to the mess hall and joined to the mid-day meal. Then we had our lunch and signed the register. I went to the staffroom for getting sign from Susha tr and took some materials from lab for experiment. 

Class experiences

 I had classes at 9C on the 5th hr at 1:20pm.After having a friendly talk with them l introduced the chapter 'Forces in fluids' on Physics. A boy named Krishna was  so irritating and so l had to bring him to the front bench. The class was started by doing an experiment with plastic bottle and water. Thus buoyancy was introduced and it's measurement was done by spring balance, stone and iron pieces. I was able to take the class without any other disturbances. 

       After the class l went to help the teachers to cut the uniforms in the lab. At 3:30 pm long bell was rang and the students went to home. We stayed there until they are all gone. 
  
     It was a pleasant beginning of our internship in 4th sem and we have to explore the various opportunities of the school to enhance the students in the coming days. 




15/06/2023, Thursday
   
    Today I reached the school at 9:00 am and reported. After signing the register we went to our respective classes. 

Class experiences

I had classes at 8F on the 3rd hr. I started the topic length and it's units in the first chapter of Physics named ' Measurements and units'. Through the usual conversations with them l was able to bring their attention to the topic. They were responded positively. I had no other disturbances in the class today. I conducted some experiments there to made the content easy to understand. The table is measured by using pencils of different lengths and also by pens of same length. The experiment was done by participating them. By using a metre scale the scale divisions such as cm,mm,m are taught. By opening colourful flashcards the relation among the units are delivered to them. Experiment for finding the thickness of a paper is demonstrated and formula is written. Also problems regarding this was done by them. I got satisfying answers in the review session. Formative evaluation helped me to understand their knowledge level. They wrote the follow up activity and l felt good about the class. 
     
   At 12:20 pm mid day meal was served. Then we had our lunch at 1:00 pm and signed the register. I had substitution classes at 5E on the 6th hr . I managed them with some effort. 
 
 We left the school at 3:45pm after the students left the school.





16/06/2023, Friday

     Today I reached the school at 9:00 am. We signed the register in the office. After wishing the teachers we went to our classes. Today Viji tr (optional) from our college SNTC Nedunganda reached the school at 10 am for our observation. 

Class experiences

 I had class at 9C on the 3rd period. I taught them about factors affecting buoyancy through some experiments. Density and Buoyancy are related by using an experiment with egg, water and saline water. Then an experiment using stone, kerosene, water, saline water and spring balance is done. The readings are noted by them in the provided activity cards. They have actively involved in it. The experiments were done properly without any interruptions. After that Viji tr gave the observation schedule. 
We had our lunch at 12:40 pm.   After lunch break we signed the register. 
 
Then l got classes at 9C on the 6th hr. I asked some questions about Buoyancy and got satisfying responses from them. They asked some doubts and l cleared that. The follow up activities were discussed. In that way they can go deeply about the content taught. 
Then l opened the lab with permission and put spring balance and other materials taken from there in respective places. 

We left the school at 3:45 p, after National Anthem.

6/02/2023, Monday             Today l reached the school at 9 am and reported. I had classes at 8C for the 2nd period and l conducted diagnostic test there on the topic 'Limits of audibility' on the chapter Sound. There were 28 students present in the class and all are attended the test. Then during the 3rd period l went to 8D and taught them capacitor portion of static electricity. After that l had to take classes at 9F on the 3rd period and taught them wave motion.        At 12:20 pm we went to mess hall for the mid day meal and served the food. Then we had food and signed the register. After that l went to 8C for the 5th and 6th period and completed the chapter static electricity. 10/ 7/2023 ,Monday Today I reached the school at 9 am and reported. As per the time table l had no classes today. I had substitution class at 6B on the  2 nd hr. I managed the class. It was fun to spend time with them. They were curious to participate in group activities. We played a game based on English vocabulary teamwise. As the game progresses they were very active and sudden responses were came from them. The scores of the team motivates them to find more words from their memory. It was fun and informative. They can recollect and insert new words into the memory.  Class experiences I had to take class at 9C on the 3rd and 4th hr. I taught them the chapter "Forces in fluids" on the topic "viscosity".My class was observed by my physics teacher Susha in the school. I used the technique of Think-Pair- Share to teach them.
